The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce has expanded its regional network with the addition of Thomaston, announced on January 13, 2025, marking a significant milestone in its mission to foster economic growth and collaboration across Central Connecticut. This partnership, in collaboration with the Thomaston Economic Development Commission, brings Thomaston’s business community under the Chamber’s umbrella, making it the seventh member town.
By joining, Thomaston businesses will benefit from the Chamber’s resources, including networking opportunities, advocacy, and collaborative programs that connect them with businesses in other member towns.
Lissa Jennings, Chair of Thomaston’s Economic Development Commission, expressed optimism about the opportunities this partnership will unlock for local businesses, enhancing their reach and success.
The Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce boasts a history dating back over a century. Originating in 1885 with the formation of the Bristol Board of Trade, it has expanded to a regional organization. Over time, the Chamber absorbed surrounding towns, fostering inter-municipal collaboration and offering businesses unparalleled support. The addition of Thomaston further cements its role as a leader in economic development within the state.
With Thomaston’s membership, the Chamber continues its dedication to creating a thriving business environment and facilitating regional partnerships, underscoring its commitment to innovation and growth across Central Connecticut. Thomaston did not previously have an active Chamber of Commerce.
