On Track for the Holidays — Thomaston Christmas Train Tickets on Sale

The Railroad Museum of New England’s popular holiday train rides are back for the 2025 season, with tickets now available. The Northern Lights Limited, Santa Express, and Autism-Friendly Santa Express will run from late November through December 23, departing from Thomaston Station.

The Santa Express is held in the afternoons at 12:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. during the weekend, offering a daytime trip with visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, caroling, and a special gift for each child.

The Northern Lights Limited is an evening ride to Santa’s Workshop, featuring festive decorations inside and out, a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, Christmas carols, and gifts for each child. Departures are scheduled at 5:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.

On Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., the museum will host an autism-friendly version of the Santa Express in partnership with Sun, Moon & Stars, Inc. This ride includes sensory accommodations such as lowered music volume and distributing bells at the end of the trip, instead of during to reduce overall volume inside the train.

Rides are approximately 90 minutes and depart from Thomaston Station, 242 East Main Street. Children under two may ride on an adult’s lap without a ticket. Prices vary by class of service, ranging from weekday coach seats at $25 per person to weekend Sky Lounge tickets at $100. Full pricing and class details are available at the museum’s website. Tickets and additional information for all rides are available at rmne.org. Don’t miss your chance to experience this one-of-a-kind holiday ride.
