What Thomaston Families Need to Know as School Starts

Students across Thomaston return to classrooms on Wednesday, August 27th, as a new school year begins for Thomaston Public Schools. To help mark the occasion, the Student Council is inviting families to a Back to School Bash at the high school from 5 to 8 p.m. the same evening. The event will feature food trucks, games, music, giveaways, and face painting, and is open to all Thomaston Public Schools families. Parking will be available in the upper high school lot and at Black Rock Elementary, with admission only $5 per car.

The first week of classes will run on an early dismissal schedule, and families can find exact dismissal times for each school on the district’s resources page. To make the start of the year easier, the district’s website provides a number of tools and resources. Families may find the following links especially helpful as the year gets underway:

As the new year begins, the Chronicle will also be publishing a Tick by Tick guide to help families navigate the “where and how” of our school system, from district structure to navigating resources. In the meantime, we wish all students, families, and educators a great start to the year.
