Community Resources to Support Businesses After Main Street Fire

Following the Main Street fire, several local businesses, community organizations, and residents have organized and found ways to support those affected. This page represents known support efforts related to the Main Street fire and is intended to make it easier to find information in one place.

Information on this page will be updated as additional details become available. Community members who are aware of new information or additional fundraising efforts are encouraged to email us at contact@clocktownchronicle.com so this resource can be kept current.


GoFundMe Fundraisers for Impacted Businesses

Online fundraising campaigns have been created to support the businesses impacted by the fire. Note: While GoFundMe does not charge a platform fee to start or manage fundraisers, a transaction fee is automatically deducted from each donation to cover payment processing and the delivery of funds (currently 2.9% plus $0.30 per donation in the U.S.).


Community-Led Fundraisers and Events

Several local businesses are also hosting events or dedicating proceeds to support those impacted by the fire.

  • Railroad Museum of New England / Naugatuck Railroad
    [Past Event] The Railroad Museum of New England and Naugatuck Railroad will host a benefit brunch train to support businesses impacted by the downtown fire, with all ticket proceeds donated. More information here.

  • Nourished Roots Yoga
    [Past Event] $10 drop-in classes throughout the month of February, with 50% of proceeds supporting local businesses and employees affected by the fire.

  • Eros Archery
    [Past Event] Open session on Sunday, February 1, from 12:00–3:00 p.m., with lane rental proceeds directed toward assisting businesses impacted by the fire.

In-Person Donation Collection

  • Rozzi’s Restaurant
    In-person donations are being collected at the restaurant for distribution among the affected businesses. Donations may be dropped off in buckets labeled for each business impacted by the fire.

  • Thomaston Fish & Game Club
    A donation bucket has been set up at the club to support Patty and Mike Kelley; Mike Kelley is a member of the Fish & Game Club.
