Laura Fitch has served on the Thomaston Board of Education and the Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Commission.
Occupation / Professional Background:
Fitch currently serves as Interim Tax Collector for the Town of Thomaston. She previously worked for more than four years as Administrative Assistant in the Thomaston Building and Land Use Office and spent over a decade in the banking industry, most recently as a Customer Service Associate at Thomaston Savings Bank. Her background also includes experience in real estate and as a Census Crew Leader with the U.S. Census Bureau.
Education and Certifications:
Fitch studied Business and Accounting at Eastern Connecticut State University and earned a Paralegal Certificate from Post University. She is a Certified Notary Public and is currently enrolled in a Tax Collection Certification course.
Volunteer / Community Involvement:
Fitch has been involved with the Thomaston Townwide PTA, Girl Scouts of Connecticut, the 150th Anniversary Committee, and the Thomaston Historical Society.
Personal Details:
A long-time Thomaston resident, Fitch has raised three children who attended Thomaston Public Schools. She enjoys hiking, kayaking, geocaching, and rockhounding.
