Thomaston Republicans will head to the polls next week to decide which of two candidates will appear on the November ballot for the Board of Selectmen. Incumbent Michael Burr and challenger Julianne Ingham are facing off in a primary contest that will decide who appears on the Republican ballot for this seat.
Early Voting Schedule
Registered Republicans may cast ballots early at Town Hall in the Senior Center on the following dates and times:
- Tuesday, Sept. 2: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, Sept. 3: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 4: 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 5: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturday, Sept. 6: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Sunday, Sept. 7: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (last day for early voting)
Primary Day Voting
Primary Day is Tuesday, Sept. 9. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Candidates
- Julianne (Julie) Ingham — A Connecticut State Marshal and lifelong Thomaston resident, Ingham is running on a platform of affordability, schools, and housing. She points to her decades of committee service and emphasizes a collaborative, less divisive approach to town government. More about Julie here →
- Michael (Mike) Burr — A retired Navy Commander, former American Airlines captain, and longtime Thomaston resident, Burr has served as a Selectman since 2023.
