Burr Reclaims Ballot Spot for Board of Selectmen

Polls closed Tuesday night in Thomaston’s Republican primary for the Board of Selectmen, with incumbent Mike Burr reclaiming his spot on the ballot in November. Burr received 290 votes — 53 percent of those cast — while challenger Julianne Ingham earned 262.

The contest drew 552 Republicans voters in town, a turnout of about 29 percent.

Ahead of the primary, George Seabourne, chairman of the Thomaston Republican Town Committee, publicly posted his support for Burr, writing that Burr “works hard for our town, and he deserves our support.”

Burr will now advance to the November municipal election in pursuit of another term on the board.
