Looking for something to do this weekend? Landmark Community Theatre will host a night of standup comedy this upcoming Friday at the Thomaston Opera House, featuring a mix of local first-time performers and experienced comedians.

The comedy show is scheduled for Friday, May 22nd and doors will open at 6:30 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the theatre’s website.

The event will feature the debut performances of several area residents who have spent the past year studying standup comedy under comedian and instructor Brii Lopez.

Lopez, a Connecticut comedian, has performed at comedy clubs in New York City and Stamford and currently teaches comedy classes for adults and seniors interested in learning the craft.

The event will also feature a guest appearance by comedian Davey Lozano, a New Haven-based comedian and emcee known for incorporating storytelling, crowd interaction, and pop culture references into his performances.

Local performers scheduled to appear include Jeff Dunn, Renae Saftler, Karin Nystrom, Rebecca Jackson, Tricia Oporto, and Bill Starr.
