A Closer Look at Thomaston’s First Selectman Candidates

For the first time in 15 years, Thomaston voters will elect a new First Selectman without Ed Mone on the ballot. Two candidates are running to take on the role: Republican Rich Sileo and Democrat Jeff Dunn. The Clocktown Chronicle worked directly with both candidates to learn about their backgrounds, reasons for running, and priorities for their first term if elected.

Mr. Sileo has lived in Thomaston for more than three decades. He has served as chairman of both the Board of Finance and the Economic Development Commission, while building a professional career spanning more than twenty years in senior leadership roles at global companies. Mr. Dunn is a lifelong Thomaston resident, Executive Director of Landmark Community Theater, and has served on the Board of Selectmen and Police Commission since 2019. He has been involved with the Opera House Building Committee, the Rotary Club, and has served as a Corporator at Thomaston Savings Bank for more than 20 years.
