The Railroad Museum of New England will host a Benefit Brunch Train on Saturday, March 14th, with all proceeds donated to assist businesses impacted by the downtown fire as they rebuild.
Two departures are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Each ticket includes a 90-minute train ride, brunch, and dessert.
Organizers have partnered with several local businesses for the event. Rozzi’s Restaurant will provide food, Clocktown Brewing Company is donating beer for onboard sales, Nutmeg Fudge Company is donating take-home fudge samples, and Thomaston Dunkin’ locations are donating coffee and donuts.
Passengers may choose between a meat lovers burrito made with bacon, sausage, peppers and onions, and melted cheese, or a veggie burrito made with black beans, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and melted cheese.
Coach seating, including “Hi” Level and Premium Coach, is $40 per passenger and sold in groups of two or four. Governor’s Lounge seating is $60 per passenger and sold individually. Sky Lounge seating is $75 per passenger and available as individual seats or tables of four.
A raffle of donated items from local businesses will be held during the event at Thomaston Station. Those interested in donating raffle items may email info@rmne.org.
Full details and ticket information are available online. Additional ways to support businesses impacted by the fire can also be found on the Chronicle’s Community Support Resources page, which is updated as new efforts are announced.
